About

Wiping the dust off of rare vintage pieces and re-inventing them with sparkling wit, Lara Noel Hill captures the imagination with her chic designs. Vintage Glam is only a stones throw away for the young artisan who scours flea markets, estate sales and antique stores. She travels throughout the United States with a collector’s eye searching for unearthed classics and rare finds.

Like her jewelry, Designs by Lara Noel Hill is the result of personal re-invention. A former music industry insider, Lara shed her corporate image when she resolved to follow her passion for jewelry design.  Re-invented with unique panache, Lara Noel is truly the product of her vivid imagination. Styled in retro fashion, complemented by bright pink lipstick, Lara is the modern version of Coco Chanel (her idol), who began her career designing hats from scraps of old fabric. She, along with her vintage treasures, have traveled many paths to reach this destination.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Lara credits her Grandma Hill’s jewelry box as a major source of inspiration.  Lara was fascinated with putting together materials and contrasting colors. Her curiosity culminated in her premiere design—a bracelet made from yarn and buttons in 2nd grade. Her teacher made such a big deal about it that Miss Scott put a presentation together to show Lara's bracelet to the class.  And it took off from there.

After graduating from Arizona State University with a degree in Marketing and Advertising, she migrated west to Los Angeles. Following this, she furthered her music career hosting and directing the “Subterranean Soundwaves” radio show on KCRW. This led to a position as Director of A&R at Elektra Records.  At Elektra, she had the opportunity to sign up-and-coming artists as well as being involved in the production process. Her career path reached a zenith when her first band’s album went platinum. After learning what she could from the music industry, Lara boldly decided to break away and pursue her own creative desires.

She enrolled in the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California to study graphic design. While attending school, she was discovered by Emphasis boutique on Sunset Boulevard where her designs were launched. Her jewelry quickly took off, and shortly thereafter were carried in numerous stores including Fred Segal.

Her pieces are collected and designed with the notion of finding the story behind each one, and re-inventing it. In keeping with this idea, Lara Noel Hill, has dusted herself off and re-invented her career path. She has carved a niche in the industry, which is as one-of-a-kind as her jewelry.
